What is Classified Senate?


Fullerton College Classified Senate was established in June 2005 and is a part of the shared governance model that provides classified professionals an opportunity to participate effectively in the governance of Fullerton College.

It is an opportunity for classified employees to have a voice in the decision-making process regarding issues that affect classified professionals at Fullerton College.

Classified Senate Mission

“The mission of Classified Senate is to participate effectively in the formation of college policy and procedures. The Classified Senate expresses the view of classified professionals in the shared governance process, excluding all areas of Collective Bargaining.”


Current Objectives:

  • Educating the campus on Classified Senate purpose
  • Increase information sharing among shared governance committees
  • Creating a welcome for newly hired classified employees
  • Creating a Classified Learning Certificate in partnership with Staff Development
  • Collaborate with Faculty and Student Senates for the “Kindness Campaign”

Classified Senate Meetings


Classified Senate
is typically every 2nd and 4th Tuesday in Room 229 (second floor of the 200 Building) from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Everyone is welcome to attend as a guest or interested member.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

Fullerton College celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony for the Chapman Newell Instructional Building & the M&O Building. Classified Senate President, Nichole Crockrom, spoke at this event on how these projects benefit Classified staff.

Fall 2023 Classified Recognition Awards

The Classified Recognition Fall 2023 awards went to Annika Shellenbarger (AM), Specialist for the Promise Program and Danny Gutierrez (PM), Campus Safety Officer.

 


Fall 2023 Meet & Greet | Events to Connect

Classified staff were invited to learn more about Classified Senate during the Fall Meet and Greet, and connect with each other with coffee, tea, and pastries during the Fall semester.


President Olivo’s Investiture Events

The campus was invited to attend multiple events throughout the week of September 25th to celebrate the investiture of Dr. Cynthia Olivo. Classified Senate President, Nichole Crockram, spoke during the Investiture Ceremony on September 29th.
